OMAHA (DTN) -- Continued chances for rainfall in Brazil soybean areas and late-arriving precipitation for southern Russia wheat are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Tuesday.

DRY MIDWEST TREND

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for dry conditions across the Midwest during the next few days. Harvest remains generally favorable.

STILL DRY IN SOUTHERN PLAINS

Very dry conditions in the Southern Plains remain in the forecast through the next week. Winter wheat is under stress in its early growth stage.

WINDY AND DRY IN NORTHERN PLAINS

In the Northern Plains, dry conditions with strong winds are in store. The drier trend favors row crop harvest. Strong winds may cause damage in areas with weakened standability.

DRIER FOR DELTA CLEANUP

Delta crop areas have drier conditions to offer cleanup and recovery following the passage of Hurricane Delta. Cotton and soybean crops sustained damage due to heavy rain and wind.

CONTINUED BRAZIL RAIN CHANCE

Central Brazil crop areas have continued rain prospects during the balance of the week. Coverage of moderate amounts is indicated for most primary soybean crop areas. This higher chance for rain is likely to encourage active soybean planting. Planting progress at 3.5% complete is well behind the average 11% completion rate for this point in the season.

POSSIBLE ARGENTINA RAIN

Central Argentina has favorable chances for moderate rain in all central crop areas over the next week. This will be closely watched.

LATE-ARRIVING RUSSIA RAIN

Russia wheat areas have light to moderate rain in the forecast over the next week. Rain will offer some crop moisture benefit. However, very dry conditions in the last eight weeks have likely reduced winter wheat acreage.

LIGHT AUSTRALIA MOISTURE

Australia southeastern wheat areas continue with light rain in the forecast through the next seven days. Other wheat areas will be mainly dry.
