EASTERN MIDWEST RAIN BENEFIT
OMAHA (DTN) -- Rain benefiting eastern areas of the Midwest and indications of favorable weather for eastern Russia wheat yields are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Tuesday.
EASTERN MIDWEST RAIN FOCUS
The DTN ag weather forecast calls for favorable conditions in the eastern Midwest after moderate to heavy rain during the past weekend. Western areas saw very little rain except for Missouri; row crops in Iowa have notable stress. Scattered showers will continue in the east through Tuesday. Showers will move back into western areas Wednesday and Thursday and spread to the east over the weekend.
BENEFICIAL SOUTHERN PLAINS CONDITIONS
Southern Plains areas will have below to well below normal temperatures during the first half of this week. Mild temperatures following recent rain are beneficial for filling row crops.
FAVORABLE NORTHERN PLAINS PATTERN
Northern Plains crop areas have a mainly dry and cool pattern through the next three days. Conditions are favorable for spring wheat and row crops. Light to moderate rain is indicated in the five-day period.

VARIABLE DELTA AND SOUTHEAST RAIN
Delta and Southeast crop areas will see variable rainfall during the coming week. Delta areas will have isolated to scattered activity. Southeast areas have coastal rain potential due to tropical activity from the Isaias system.
SCATTERED PRAIRIES SHOWERS
Canadian Prairies crop areas have mainly favorable crop conditions. Scattered showers are in store this week, along with more seasonal temperatures.
INCREASED RUSSIA WHEAT YIELDS
Recent rain in Russia's wheat areas has led to higher wheat yields compared with earlier projections. The increase is most noted in the Volga and Central districts.
WESTERN EUROPE DRYNESS
Europe crop areas continue to have widely variable rainfall. Eastern Europe saw rain during the past weekend. However, southern France and Spain continue with a concerning dry pattern.
FAVORABLE BRAZIL TRENDS
Across Brazil, dry conditions continue to favor harvest activities for corn and cotton in the central and north, while conditions remain favorable for developing wheat in the south.
MINIMAL ARGENTINA RAIN
In central Argentina, wheat areas were dry and warm during the past weekend. Very little additional rain is indicated during the coming week. Wheat acreage has been reduced due to dryness.
DRY PERIOD FOR AUSTRALIA
Forecast maps offer little to no rainfall for eastern Australia wheat areas through the middle of next week. Rain prospects are indicated in the seven-day forecast and will bear close watching.
