Commodities Market Impact Weather
Favorable Midwest Combination
OMAHA (DTN) -- A favorable mix of heat and thunderstorms in the central U.S. and periods of rain indicated for both Europe and Black Sea region crop areas are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Wednesday.
HEAT TO ADVANCE MIDWEST CROPS
The DTN ag weather forecast calls for a hot pattern in the Midwest to lead to rapid corn and soybean crop growth. A front will sag slowly southward this week, producing periods of showers along with the heat and offering continued favorable growing conditions.
LIMITED SOUTHWEST PLAINS RAIN
In the Southern Plains, hot and dry conditions will continue to stress crops in the western sector. Eastern areas have better soil moisture conditions and will also have periods of thunderstorms to continue favoring crop progress.
STORMS FOR NORTHERN PLAINS
Thunderstorms crossing the Northern Plains over the next five days will lessen any stressful impact of hot conditions early this week.

TROPICAL RAIN WATCH IN DELTA
Across the Delta, isolated showers during midweek are indicated, along with a hotter trend. A developing tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico will be watched for the prospect of bringing heavy rain into the region over the next week.
RAIN FORECAST IN PRAIRIES
In the Canadian Prairies, a large storm system is in store for late week with widespread moderate to heavy rainfall. The rain will be favorable for crops. Seeding progress is near average across the region.
LIGHT BLACK SEA REGION SHOWERS
Across the Black Sea region, this week finds periods of rain crossing Ukraine and western Russia. Moisture is useful for summer crops and late-stage wheat. The Ukraine crop is estimated lower than a year ago due to dryness earlier in the spring.
RAIN FOR WESTERN EUROPE
In Western Europe, France and Germany have a continued prospect for rain during this week. The rain would be beneficial for wheat.
HEAVY SOUTHERN BRAZIL RAIN
Across Brazil, southern crop areas continue to be in line for moderate to heavy rain during the coming week. The rain is coming too late for meaningful crop benefit. Farther north, light rain in Mato Grosso will be favorable for the safrinha corn harvest.
NORTHERN ARGENTINA SHOWERS
In Argentina, rain is indicated for northern areas during the last half of the week. Some harvest delay may occur.
DRY AUSTRALIA TREND
Australia wheat areas will be mainly dry through the balance of the week. Recent rains have improved soil moisture for crop development.
