OMAHA (DTN) -- Cool temperatures with showers in the central U.S. and consistent rain forecasts for the Black Sea region are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Monday.

FAVORABLE MIDWEST COMBINATION

The DTN Ag Weather forecast has a generally favorable combination for Midwest corn and soybean planting, emergence and early development. Periods of showers are in store during the next seven days, along with below normal temperatures. Rainfall will interrupt fieldwork and planting; however, planting progress is running well ahead of average. Moisture will favor seedling emergence and early development of row crops.

MORE SOUTHWEST PLAINS DRYNESS

Southwestern Plains areas will continue to have mainly dry conditions through the next week, further stressing winter wheat and offering unfavorable conditions for planting cotton. This portion of the region will also be very warm to hot Monday, with record heat very likely. Eastern areas will see heavier rainfall along with severe storm potential.

NORTHERN PLAINS RAIN AND CHILLS

Moderate to locally heavy rain will cross the Northern Plains during the first part of the week. The rain will favor soil moisture for spring wheat and row crops. The region turns colder during late week with some frost and light freeze potential. The cold is not expected to be damaging.

COOL WITH SHOWERS IN DELTA

The Delta has periods of showers with cooler temperatures ahead during the next week. No extensive interruptions to fieldwork are indicated, however. Mainly light rain forecast through the next seven days.

PROMISING RAIN FOR RUSSIA

Russia and Ukraine have a promising forecast for rain during the next seven days. Moderate to heavy amounts are indicated. This rain would be very beneficial to winter wheat and will be closely monitored.

RAIN HEADED FOR EUROPE

Europe crop areas begin the week with light to moderate rain in the forecast. This would be important moisture for wheat areas and will be closely tracked.

CENTRAL BRAZIL SHOWER CHANCE

Central Brazil crop areas have light to moderate rain forecast during the next seven days. Rain would offer improved conditions for pollinating and filling safrinha corn.

COOL AND DRIER FOR ARGENTINA

Argentina crop areas have dry and cool conditions in the seven-day forecast. The drier trend will favor harvest.

AUSTRALIA RAIN FORECAST

Almost all Australia wheat areas have light to locally moderate rain forecast through this coming week. The rain will cause some interruptions in wheat seeding; however, rain will be favorable for soil moisture and will be utilized by early-developing wheat which has already been seeded.
