Commodities Market Impact Weather
Mixed Harvest Forecast
OMAHA (DTN) -- Variable conditions for harvest in the United States, and improved rain for Brazil soybean planting, are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Wednesday.
VARIABLE MIDWEST CONDITIONS
The DTN ag weather forecast calls for variable conditions across the Midwest during the next five to seven days. Periods of rain showers are in store through the weekend, keeping harvest progress inconsistent. The pattern turns drier in the seven-to-14-day period and suggests better harvest conditions going into late October.
NORTHERN PLAINS STORM DAMAGE
Northern Plains' crop areas have extensive harvest disruption and crop damage following heavy snow and blizzard conditions during last weekend. A new round of moderate-to-locally-heavy rain is indicated in the five-to-seven-day forecast for areas that were hardest-hit by the blizzard.
SEASONAL IN SOUTHERN PLAINS
P[L1] D[0x0] M[300x250] OOP[F] ADUNIT[] T[]
Southern Plains' crop areas have mostly seasonal conditions, warmer and drier, for winter wheat planting and early development during the balance of this week.
IMPROVED PRAIRIES PATTERN
The Canadian Prairies have a drier pattern for harvest during this week.
FAVORABLE BRAZIL RAIN FORECAST
Improved rain for planting in Brazil's main soybean areas continues in the forecast for the next week.
BENEFICIAL ARGENTINA SHOWERS
Argentina crop areas have improved soil moisture for planting following rain during the past weekend.
LIGHT AUSTRALIA SHOWERS
Southeastern Australia crop areas have light-to-locally-moderate rain indicated during the next week. Other crop areas will have only light precipitation. Wheat production remains on track to be lower than a year ago because of drought.
